The inspiration for this pattern came when Kim helped her son's class create an end-of-the-year thank you gift for the teachers.  Both women were touched by the gifts, which reminded them of their own early school buildings and family quilting roots, and the projects became even more special when each child and parent put a stitch into the quilts.  This is the perfect foundation-piecing gift for every teacher!  Give them at Christmas or graduation time!
