Sweet Peas, Inc. quilts are well suited to classroom teaching. Ask your local fabric store to host a class featuring one or more Sweet Peas, Inc. Foundation Piecing Patterns. Popular patterns for first-time quilters include Toy Box Ornaments (#590), Tall Timber Stocking (#610), Ferry Boat (#585), and Corn & Beans (see below). Kim Halvorson, the owner and designer of Sweet Peas, Inc., teaches classes featuring her patterns regularly in the Seattle area. The following event list is her current teaching schedule. Shop owners are welcome to contact Kim directly to book her for upcoming classes if they wish. (Call Sweet Peas, Inc. at 206-284-5529.) The following photographs were taken at a recent quilting class. Look how fun and easy it is to create a wall quilt of your very own! (Class members included experienced and first-time quilters; each completed their own Tall Timber Christmas Stocking for the holidays.)
Class members have fun together, share stories, and build a complete quilt project in a morning or afternoon session.
Useful tools include a sewing machine, cutting mat, iron--and lots of smiles.
This first-time quilter has just finished her first quilt block. Way to go!
Quilting in a group setting gives students a chance to share their ideas and receive support and encouragement from each other. Spend the day with friends and then display your new creation at home! |
